How many questions are on the real RBT exam?
The RBT certification exam has 85 questions, of which 75 are scored and 10 are unscored pilot items. You have 90 minutes. Questions follow the RBT Task List areas: measurement, assessment, skill acquisition, behavior reduction, documentation and reporting, and professional conduct.
What score do I need to pass?
The BACB does not publish a fixed percentage; the passing standard is set by a scaled score. Most prep resources treat 80% or higher on practice material as a sign you are ready.
Is this practice exam free?
Yes. You only enter an email at the end to unlock your score and the explanations. There is no account and no payment.
Can I retake it?
Yes. Each attempt draws a fresh random set from our question bank, so you can retake it as often as you like.
How do I become an RBT?
Be at least 18, hold a high-school diploma or equivalent, pass a background check, complete the 40-hour RBT training, pass an initial competency assessment with a qualified supervisor, then apply to the BACB and pass the exam.
