About this course

In this episode of Behavioral Artists, we break down the vestibular system—one of the most powerful (and often overlooked) sensory systems influencing behavior. Inspired by the work of A. Jean Ayres and modern occupational therapy research, this CEU dives into how movement, balance, and spatial awareness directly impact attention, emotional regulation, and what we often label as “behavior.” You’ll learn how to recognize vestibular seeking and avoidance patterns, rethink common behavioral presentations, and better understand the sensory needs of the individuals you serve—especially those with autism. Most importantly, we’ll show you how to level up your clinical practice by collaborating more effectively with occupational therapists, all while staying within the ethical guidelines of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
